The ASAHRS Scientific Fellowship (SF-ASAHRS) is a distinguished honor awarded to physicians who demonstrate outstanding contributions to the science of hair restoration through peer-reviewed publications, teaching, and scholarly advancement. Each Fellow’s work is merit-based, peer-reviewed, and publicly verified, reflecting a commitment to ethical research and global knowledge exchange.

Recipients of this fellowship exemplify leadership, innovation, and scientific integrity—serving as key contributors to the evolution of evidence-based hair restoration practices worldwide.
Eligibilty and Routes
To be eligible for certification, applicants must:

Required: ASAHRS Board Certification (or equivalent credential recognized by ASAHRS)

Recommended: F-ASAHRS Fellowship (clinical) — not mandatory

Ethics & research compliance: Sign the Research & Ethics Addendum (COI, authorship, IRB/consent where applicable)

How You Earn It — Scholarly Units (SU)
Earn SF-ASAHRS: Accumulate 10 SU within 24 months
Maintain: 6 SU every 24 months thereafter
Breadth rules: At least 2 categories each cycle; peer-reviewed publications must contribute ≥4 SU; max 4 SU from any one category (except one original research paper may count 6 SU once)
